Be sure to check out the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records!

Grandma was watching the news one night back in May and they had a clip on a local red head photographer. She wanted to gather as many local red heads as possible for a picture so she could make it into the Guinness Book of World Records. As soon as Grandma told Mommy about it she put it on the calendar and cleared the day! Mommy was so excited to take me to it! It was held in Samammish at the high school. We weren’t sure what to expect so we got there early and are so happy we did because eventually the line wrapped around the stadium, down the long driveway to the entrance of the school and onto the main street. It was so much fun to see all the different shades of redheads that turned out for the event. Mommy’s friend Christina was able to make it and Mommy was so thankful because kids under 10 had to be with an adult during the shoot. To qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records the photographer needed at least 250 people. She had 600 people that pre-registered and the total number that showed up was 901 redheads!! The people in front of us in line drove all the way from California for the event! And there was a little boy that had long hair that was heading to a salon right after the event to get all his hair cut off to donate to locks of love! So neat! John Curly (used to be on Evening Magazine) was there and spoke for a little bit. And Santa Clause was even there. I guess Santa used to have red hair when he was younger! Mommy was so happy we went! Thank you Grandma for going with and for watching the news that night! :)
