Rory and I are both participating in the Arlington Relay for Life event this year. The Police Department started a team and we’re both very excited for the opportunity to walk for Rory’s Dad who passed away from Cancer, my mom who has survived cancer and for friends who have lost loved ones because of Cancer.
There was an event this last Saturday called Paint the Town Purple. There were all sorts of fundraising booths. We sold lots of yummy treats, we raffled off lunch with the police chief and raffled off to have your picture sketched by the police sketch artist. We also had a patrol car for the kids who wanted to have their picture taken in the patrol car. The weather was HORRIBLE so it didn’t really draw a huge crowd but we were very grateful for every dollar we raised. The relay is June 4th and 5th. If you would like to donate, please contact me or come on out and support our team the day of the relay. We’ll have baked goods again and will be doing more raffles and there will be lots of fun stuff for the kids, including bouncy houses!
